Utilitarianism is an ethic of welfare. it is the idea that the moral worth of an action is solely determined by its contribution to overall utility, that is, its contribution to happens or pleasure as summed among all persons. it ca be described by \"the greatest good for the greatest number\".

it measn the self is the final one decide whether his action is good or bad and right and wrong. if you think that you are doing the right activity it has to provide positive result to many of the people.

in this process one should get pain and pleasure. these two are homogeneous, because two are psychological feelings only. and can not express and explain to others. one should feel them and experience them only. if one succeeded at the work, the result is positve he feels happy. and if the work is negitive and failure he felt sad. so, these two are homogeneous feelings only.
