Solve the following inequality x3 + 8x2

Solution

x^3 + 8x^2<0

taking x^2 common

x^2(x+8)<0

therefore the critical points are

x^2=0 and x+8=0

x=0 and x=-8

And on checking it on number line with the help of testing points we get

(-infinity,-8 ) as the solution
