Is somatostain effect on TSH secretion a direct effect or is
Is somatostain effect on TSH secretion a direct effect or is it a response to GH induction of increased plasma T3 with a decreased plasma T4, and how do these reactions fall under the concept of neuroendocrine transduction in the control of TSH secretion ( show evidence)?
Solution
Yes somatostatin effect on TSH secretion and its also show effect on GH , Somatostatin inhibit the secretion of TSH and GH from anterior pitutary. When TSH level is decrease its decrease the secretion of T3 and T4 .
These reaction come in the control of neurotransmitter because pitutary hormones are control by hypothalamus, anterior pitutary control by hypothalamic secretion while posterior pitutary hormones are formed in hypothalamus and poured in to posterior pitutary thats why its called neurohyphophysis .
