Artificial Intelligence Course 1 Suppose you design a machin

#Artificial Intelligence Course#

1. Suppose you design a machine to pass the Turing test. What are the capabilities such a machine must have?

2. Compare an agent vs. rational agent

3. Answers the question given below for Mars rover agent:

a. For what purpose Mars rover was designed

b. Define PEAS for Mars Rover agent?

c. What sort of agent architecture is suitable for this agent?

Solution

1) The Turing Test or \"imitation game\" was a hypothetical argument towards the possibility of machine intelligence, mistaken for a scientific test. The argument was that if computers would be as capable as humans in answering any intellectual question, then we should consider it possible that they possess intelligence similar to humans.
The setup was too loosely defined to speak of an official Turing Test, but in one version of a Turing Test, the chatbot Cleverbot passed by audience vote, and in another, 5-minute Turing Test, the chatbot Eugene Goostman passed a 30% success rate that Alan Turing envisioned. Both were programmed with little intelligence to speak of, so proving Turing Tests to be an unreliable measure of intelligence.

2)

Agent

3)a)

b)P: Terrain explored and reported, samples gathered and analyzed

E: Launch vehicle, lander, Mars

A: Wheels/legs, sample collection device, analysis devices, radio transmitter

S: Camera, touch sensors, accelerometers, orientation sensors, wheel/joint encoders, radio receiver

c)intelligence agent
