Two supplementary angles are in the ratio 52 Find the angles
Two supplementary angles are in the ratio 5:2. Find the angles?
Solution
In the question it is given that two angles are supplementary and that the ratio of their magnitudes is 5:2. Two angles are supplementary if the sum of the angles is equal to 180 degrees. Let one of the angles be A. Therefore the other angle is (5/2)*A. Now A + (5/2)*A = 180 degrees
=> (2A + 5A)/2 = 180 degrees.
=> 7A / 2 = 180
=> 7A = 360
=> A = 360/7 degrees
The other angle is (5/2)*(360/7) = 900/7
Therefore the required angles are 360/ 7 degree and 900/7 degree
