In the figure below a sleeve has been press fit onto a pin. The inner diameter of the sleeve is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the pin. What type of material model would you use? Why?

This type of fit is called interference fit.

Since the sleeve is in tension, the tensile strength model is to be used.
