Let z be a random variable with a standard normal distribution. Find P(-2.9 < z < 0.4).

Solution

P(-2.9 < Z < 0.4)

= P( Z < 0.4 ) - P( Z < -2.9 )

From Standard normal table,

P(Z < 0.4) = 0.6554

P(Z < -2.9) = 0.0019

P(-2.9 < Z < 0.4) = 0.6554 - 0.0019

= 0.6535

Let z be a random variable with a standard normal distribution. Find P(-2.9 < z < 0.4).SolutionP(-2.9 < Z < 0.4) = P( Z < 0.4 ) - P( Z < -2.9
