The SWOT analysis is focused on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that exist for a firm. Think about being an employee for a firm. Which one is most important to you? Now think of yourself as the CEO or owner of the firm. Does this opinion change? (It is ok if they are different. I would almost hope they are. This disconnect is why having a clear plan and getting an entire firm on board with a concept is so important.)

Solution

Being an employee Iused to believe that company should focus on its strengths and opportunities. However after gaining a managerial postion, I have realized that its not only about strenght and oppurtunities, It is also necessary to have a reality check on what are our weakness and how the same can be improved through benchmarking process, bring improvements and moving in right direction. It is also necessary to keep an eye on our competetors because you can draw your strategies depending on how your competitor is performing both on sales front and in terms of expenditures.

You have to take a decision that are for the betterment of the firm keeping in mind what we can do(Strength), What we should look out for (Opportunity), What we have to look out for (Threats) and what we need to improve (Weakness).
