Area of a circle is increasing with a rate of 5 square meter

Area of a circle is increasing with a rate of 5 square meters per second. Find out the corresponding rate of increase of the radius when A=10.

Solution

we have, Area = pi x r^2 Rate of increase = dA/dt = 2 pi r dr/dt A = pi x r^2 10 = pi x r^2 radius = r = 1.784 meter 5 = 2 x pi x 1.784 x dr/dt rate of increase dr/dt = 0.446 meter
