Solution

The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) aims to protect workers, giving them 12 weeks maximum of unpaid leave, with job and insurance protection, which would be maintained during the leave.

Its purposes are:
(1) To provide a support net to employees, that allow them to balance their work and family responsibilities with a affordable unpaid leave just in case of real family and medical reasons.
(2) To include legitimate interests of employers and foster equity in employment opportunities for men and women.

The eligible employee for Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave is Julie, and the two reasons provided for law are:

(1) The paragraph stating leave for placement with the employee of a child for adoption or foster care.

(2) The requirement that the worker has to have kept employed at least 12 months, at least 1,250 hours over the past 12 months, and to work at a location where the company employs 50 or more employees within 75 miles.
