Epilepsy is a neurological disease characterized by seizures (acute release of neurotransmitters at a higher concentration). The exact cause of epilepsy is not known, but it may be acquired or idiopathic in origin.

Seizure is an abnormal high frequency electrical activity of neurons in the brain. There are different types of seizures such as partial seizure, grandma, petitmal, etc.

Convulsion is one of the consequence of seizure, characterized by the abnormal body movement. However, convulsions may not occur always when seizures occur.
