How do muscles generate smooth movements? Relate explain to the nervous system.
Solution
Answer=
Nervous system is responsible for stimulating muscles & causing them to contract.
nervous system generate nerve impulses.
Both voluntary & involuntary muscle functions are controled by nervous system.
Muscle cells contains actin & myosin myofilaments which slide above one another.& produces tension
During muscle contraction sliding of thin filament over over thick filament takes place.
1] Nerve endings of each motor neuron innervates each muscle.
2] the junction between motor neuron & sarcolemma of muscle fiber is called motor end plate
3] At axonic end= Acetylcholine a neurotransmitter is released.on getting signals from CNS.
4] It generates an action potentialin sarcolemma.
5] It causes release of Ca++ with troponin on actin filament & removes mask on active site of actin filament between myosin filament.
6] It results in shorting of sarcomere by reducing I band .
7] Myosin releases ADP & becomes relaxed.
8] Again process is repeated for furrther sliding
