The four postulates of the Charles Darwin\'s Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection are as follows:
According to Darwin [His own Quote],
\"Variation is a feature of natural populations and every population produces more progeny than its environment can manage. The consequences of this overproduction is that those individuals with the best genetic fitness for the environment will produce offspring that can more successfully compete in that environment. Thus the subsequent generation will have a higher representation of these offspring and the population will have evolve.
Many people believe that evolution took place a long time ago and that our society is undergoing \"devolution\", But new research suggests that, human beings are still changing and evolving in response to the environment even in very recent populations and relatively modern societies as they have to face the pressures of evolution.
It is a fact that people who are least economically successful tend to reproduce more than the successful ones but research shows that selection affects both wealthy and poor people in the society to the same extent. Scientists believe that being rich or poor does not affect the rate of fertility. Darwin believed in the “survival of the fittest\" and treated the world as a never ending struggle for survival. In this world everybody fights against each other, but “survival of the fittest” does not imply fighting better, or making more money, or dominating others on the basis of high intelligence, it refers only to reproductive fitness i.e. the group or the individual which reproduces more successfully is the fittest and is naturally selected and survives.
Thus, according to me there is no devolution taking place in our society. Instead our society is still evolving steadily and being rich or poor doesn\'t matter. The only thing that matters is the rate of fertility.
