Solution

Req = R1+R2 in series , R1*R2/(R1+R2) in parallel

Req of upper segment = 4+ (10*5)/(10+5) = 7.33 ohm

Req = 2 + 7.33*6)/(7.33+6)   = 3.44 ohm

I = V/Req = 10/3.44 = 2.90 Amp

b) I (R1) = 7.33*2.90)/(7.33+6) = 1.5946 Amp

a) V (R1) = 1.5946*6 = 9.56 Amp
