Consider the hypothesis test of H0 sigm2 10 against Hsigma2

Consider the hypothesis test of H0: sigm^2 = 10 against H\\:sigma^2 > 10. Approximate the P-value for each of the following test statistics. x^2 = 25.2 and n = 20 x^2 =15.2 and n= 12 x^2 0 = 4.2 and n -=15

Solution

Here test is right tailed.

(a)

Degree of freedom is df=n-1=20-1=19

P-value of the test is 0.1541.

(b)

Degree of freedom is df=n-1=12-1=11

P-value of the test is 0.1735.

(c)

Degree of freedom is df=n-1=15-1=14

P-value of the test is 0.9941.
