The question was 9x2 12x 14 And I needed to complete the s
The question was 9x^2 - 12x = 14
And I needed to complete the square
After doing so
I + 6 to both sides, and started off at the same equation as I started with.
and got
9x^2 - 12x = 14
And now trying to factor 9x^3 - 23x to get my answer, but I can\'t seem to do it.

I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE SQUARE TO SOLVE. don\'t do quadratic formula

Solution
so we want something of the form (ax+b)^2 but that equals a^2 x^2 + 2 abx + b^2 we can see that we want a^2=9 so a=3 thus 2 a b = -12 so b=-2 but that means we need an extra +4 so 9x^2 -12x +4 = 14 +4 (3x-2)^2 = 18 sqrt both sides 3x-2 = sqrt(18) 3x= sqrt(18)+2 x= (sqrt(18)+2)/3
