Below are the results of DNA fingerprinting from an actual crime case. The defendant claimed that the blood on his clothes was his own blood and not that of the murder victim. DNA from the blood of the suspect, the suspect\'s clothes, and the victim were subjected to DNA typing. Examine the DNA results and decide whether or not the suspect was telling the truth. Solution

Answer:-As per the Forensic report (DNA finger printing) the blood on the shirt of accused matches with the blood of victim because electrophoresis shows the same bands on the film. However the vlood on the jeans of accused (defendent) is his own blood as it matches with his own blood on electrophoresis. Thus defendent is lying and he is responsible for crime. If he was not guilty his blood samole or DNA would have produced different bands in the electrophoresis. Thus victims blood and blood on defendents shirt is the same.
