Genetrically Modified Foods are defined as the foods which are produced from the various organisms which have had changes in their DNA with the methods of genetic engineering. The topic is very interesting as it tells how the crop growth can increase and can last for a long time without any problems. This is relevant for the future as genetically modified crops last longer. These foods lead to issues like mitosis and meiosis.
The first one is the Mitosis which is defined as the stage in the cell cycle in which chromosomes in the cell nucleus are multiplied..On the other hand,Meiosis is defined as a process in which a single cell divides twice to produce four cells and s a result contains half the original amount of genetic information. This leads to huge complexity. The genetically modified organisms used in GMO food cannot fix these issues .
GMO foods involves the use of DNA.It is defined as Deoxyribonucleic acid .The term DNA is basically a molecule which usually contains the various instructions which an organism or human needs in order to develop, live and reproduce. These instructions are presentinside every cell, and also transcend down from parents to their children. This allows species to grow and evolve as well.
All the genetic information is present in the linear sequence of nucleotides in DNA. On the other hand, each molecule of DNA is a basically double helix structure which has been formed from two complementary strands of nucleotides .These strands are basically held together by hydrogen bonds between G-C and A-T base pairs..This information is used by the gmo foods to evolve from one generation to another by creating crops using GMO.
If the DNA breaks in between ,it can be repaired. This allows the DNA to be transferred from one generation to another. The process of DNA repair is defines as a collection of processes by which a cell is used to identify and at the same time correct the damageone to the DNA molecules that encode its genome. This allows DNA repait and number of GMO foods to be re-created even if the food gets destroyed at some point.
The biological issues related to gmo foods is that different techniques are being for this and they require a lot of cost and they cant be accessed by everyone. The GMO food may not be easy to eat and may lack the taste.EIt requires big fields to grow with continous maintainence which may notbe possible all the time. This is a tough decision and everyone cannot grow GMO easily.
