Equations are around us in everyday life. For example, if you have $30 at a baseball game and you go to the concession stand for hot dogs and hamburgers, and hot dogs are $3 each and hamburgers are $5 each, how many of each can you purchase? There isn’t just one answer.

Your Assignment is to create your own equation in a business setting. Present the equation in an essay type format.

In the first paragraph, introduce your equation, tell what your variables represent, and tell what the equation represents.

In the second paragraph, present two solutions to your equation.

In the third paragraph, discuss how and when equations are used in business transactions and give at least two examples.

In the final paragraph, state your conclusions.

Paragraph -1

Let number of hot dogs = x

Number of hamburgers = y

so total price for purchasing the hot dogs and hamburgers = (3x + 5y) $

And also we know the total cost should be 30 $

so 3x+5y should be equal to 30

so our equation is 3x+ 5y = 30

Paragraph-2

Choose any value of x and when we get corresponding value of y

for x = 0

we get 3(0) + 5y = 30

5y = 30

divide by 5 on each side

y = 6

so one solution is (0,6)

so that he can buy 0 hot dogs and 6 hamburgers

And when y = 0

3 x + 5 (0) = 30

3x = 30

divide by 3 on each side

x = 10

so the second solution is (10,0)

so he can buy 10 hot dogs and 0 hamburgers
