How does X chromosome inactivation in female mammals lead to

How does X chromosome inactivation in female mammals lead to cellular mosaicism in her tissues?

Solution

let me try to explain

In mammals xy is male and xx is female.what we mean by cellular mosaicism is simply the difference in two cells. what happens during the embroyo development is that one of the x chromosome gets inactivated which is either from a father or a mother and inactivation is a pure randomprocess,so what we see is certain cells inacticvate mothers copy of x chromosome while others inactivate fathers copy of x chromosome. This leads to difference in the expressed transcriptome of the cell due to small differences between x chromosomes of mother and fathers possibly a mutation SNP, transcript variations and leads to cellular mosaicism especially in developing embroyos ....

Hope it helps ... should u need further clarification u can always comment i would be happy to answer to your satisfication ... Regards
