A factory mixer needs 1hr to make a component of Product A, and 4hr to make a component of Product B. The factory mixer worked for 200hr manufacturing a total of 80 components. How many hours were used to manufacture units of Product A?   hr (hours)

let x be the no of hours uused to manufacture units of Product A

and y be  no of hours uused to manufacture units of Product B

x+y=80 ------------(1)

1.x+4.y=200 -----------(2)

solving 1 and 2 we get x and y

subtract (2) from(1)

3y=120

y=120/3

y =40---(3)

substitute the value of (3) in(1) we get x

x+y=80

x+40=80

x=40

Total of 1.40=40 hours were used to manufacture units of Product A.
