21 The area of a rhombus is 90 square units If one diagonal

21) The area of a rhombus is 90 square units. If one diagonal is 10 units, find the length of the other diagonal. The area of a trapezoid is 75 square inches, and its two bases are 8 and 17 inches long. Find the height of the trapezoid.

Solution

21) Area if a rhombus = (1/2) d1 * d2, where d1 and d2 are the diagnols of the rhombus

Given Area = 90 and d1 = 10 therefore, 90 = (1/2) * 10 * d2

Therefore d2 = (90*2)/10 = 18 units

22) Area of a trapezoid = (1/2) * h * (a+b)/, where h is the height, a nd b are the lengths of the bases

Given: Area = 75 inch2, a = 8 inch and b= 17 inch

Therefore 75 = (1/2) * h * (8+17), Therefore h = (75*2)/25 = 6 inches

 21) The area of a rhombus is 90 square units. If one diagonal is 10 units, find the length of the other diagonal. The area of a trapezoid is 75 square inches,
