4. Identify and describe the most important factors to consider when deciding to adopt a quality improvement or governance model (CMMI, ITIL, Six Sigma, or Lean)?
Solution
1.
Culture poses the biggest threat on successful completion of any project, be it IT/Non IT. A set and stagnant organization culture always poses resistance to change. Any project, by its nature demands some sort of change, either small or large, and with change comes resistance. The degree of resistance comes with the cultural influence within the organization. If an organization works in an environment where change is frequent, the resistance will be less and vice versa.
Strategies to overcome these barriers:
- Make sure that employees are convinced that the change in the organizational culture will bring them fruits in coming days.

2.
Reason for resistance to change:
- No clarity about the reason for change
- Some gets afraid of the uncertain future, post change
- Lack of self confidence on their own competency
- Typical mentality to follow the herd.
Motivation for change:
- Training to make people understand the positive aspect of change
- Offering benefits and rewards to accept change
-Creating majority , slowly but steadily, and providing this as example to those who likes to follow the herd
