Solve the following system of equations 5x3y1 15x9y3 Note E
Solve the following system of equations. 5x3y=1 & 15x+9y=3 Note: Enter your answer as an ordered pair. For example, if your answer is x=2, y=-3, then enter (2,-3). If there are infinitely many solutions, use x as the parameter, and enter y as a function of x. For example, the solution for x+y=1, 2x+2y=2 is (x,1-x).
Solution
5x3y=1 ---(1)
15x+9y=3 ---(2)
Multiply equation 1 by 3:
15x -9y = 3
-15x +9y = -3
-----------------
0 =0
Both the eqiuations are same and there infinite solutions:
Solution: 3y = 5x-1
y = (5x-1)/3
