She adds that she recently noted that her sclera appears somewhat yellowish and that her urine has become dark (Case Study Table 25-3.1). What is the most likely diagnosis? What additional factors in the patient\'s history should be sought? What is the prognosis?

Thus the patient is diagnosed with jaundice caused by Hepatitis A viral infection.

Additionally the patient must be asked regarding her daily course of personal hygeine and the sanitation conditions around the patient in general.

Answer 3.

The prognosis would be that with proper medications the patient is bound to recover soon. However, the patient may relapse with jaundice again, to completely recover soon and get life-long immunity to Hep A virus.
