(TCO 1) Describe an example of a two-dimensional character array that could be used to hold a set of text data that might be displayed on a hand-held information display device such as an MP3 player. Describe what each of the two-dimensional characters might represent and the data that would be held in the array. Also, provide an example array declaration.

Solution

Generally in musical files we have relative rhytms represented by common nodes in a mp3 file. In a 2d array we can use the same to store the commong nodes and their repetition in the form of 2d array by some special symbols in the array. That will indicate that this is a common code usually which are sixteenth node, dotted sixteenth note, eighth note and dotted eighth note.

With this we can avoid unnecessary repetitions in the storage. The array can be declared simply as arr[3][4]. Here the first dimension will reprsent the text and the second will represent the nodes in the musical file.
