we need to find the value of z such that 0.516 of the area lies between -z and +z.

In normal distribution total area is always 1.

hence , the area reqd is 1-0.516=0.484

it means half of the area lies between -z and 0 while half lies between 0 and +z. since the graph is bell shaped and both the areas are equal .

hence we can say one half of the area is 0.242.

use the calculator to find the InvNorm .

it will give the answer -.69

henec the area lies between -0.69 and+0.69.

alternatively normal tables can also be used.(check the values in the table taht gives value near to 0.242)
