Compton scattering possible by free electrons in the metal.

Compton scattering for protons is not possible for low x-ray energies. From experimental research investigation,this proton scattering is possible only when incident photons of broad range of energies 200 MeV-880 Mev.

Hence in genertal electron scattering is observing the scattered x rays.
