1a Find all vertical and horizontal asymptotes of the graph

1a) Find all vertical and horizontal asymptotes of the graph of the function. (Enter your answers as a comma-separated list.)

f(x) =2x^2+1/x^2+x+4

1b)Find all vertical and horizontal asymptotes of the graph of the function. (Enter your answers as a comma-separated list.)

f(x) = x^3/x^2-9

1c) Find all vertical and horizontal asymptotes of the graph of the function. (Enter your answers as a comma-separated list.)

f(x) = 1+x/1-x

Solution

1a) f(x)= (2x^2 +1)/(x^2 +x+4)

H.A : degree of num. and den. are same, so

y = 2x^2/x^2 =2

y = 2

V.A. set denomintor. =0 and solve

x^2 +x +4 =0

we get imaginary roots

So, V.A does not exists

1b) f(x) = x^3/(x^2 -9)

H.A. If degree of num. is > degree of den. then no horizontal asymtotes exist

V.A. set denomintor. =0 and solve

x^2 -9 =0 ; x=3 , x=-3

1c) f(x) = (1+x)/(1-x)

H.A : y = x/-x =-1

y =-1

V.A. set denomintor. =0 and solve

x =1

1a) Find all vertical and horizontal asymptotes of the graph of the function. (Enter your answers as a comma-separated list.) f(x) =2x^2+1/x^2+x+4 1b)Find all v
