Refrigerators don’t actually cools the kitchen, they just remove the heat from them , all that heat energy has to go somewhere. So it’s usually just dissipated back into the kitchen. The coils on the back of the refrigerator are so warm that’s because they’re removing all that heat which enters into the refrigrator.

If we leave the refrigrator door open, the refrigerator will have to work harder because it will have to remove the heat from the entire kitchen, not just the inside of the refrigerator. And it will put the heat back into the kitchen, making the kitchen warmer.
