Solution

Let the width be = x. Then length = 3x + 2. Given that the perimeter = 68.

So 2(3x+2) + 2x = 68. Solving for x;

6x + 4 + 2x = 68

8x = 64

X = 8

Therefore width is 8 inches and length is (8*3)+2=26 inches
