what the effect of grain size is on ability of metal to plastic-ally deform , and Why?
Solution
If grain size is small, then the metal can more plastically deform due to the the less number of voids present in between the grains. If size is large, then the grain to grain contact is more and the metal is more stiff and it cannot deform. texture also effect the ability to deform. if rough texture, then interlock will happen and cannot deform or less deform. If texture is smooth then more plastic deformation.
