Cat5 UTP is most widely used cabling specification.And data rate is upto 100 mbps.and max length is 100 meters and cable type is Twisted pair .And another one Cat3 UTP data rate is 1o mps only.And Cat5 Utp cable is came to repalce the old coaixal cable that was not able to keep up with the constant growing need for faster and more relaible networks.

And single mode cable is a single mode of glass fiber with a diameter of 8.3 to 10 and multi mode cable is a made of glass fibers  with a diameter of 50 to 100 micron range.

So compare to Cat3 UTP and SMF and MMF Cat5 UTP is best best media type .
