The synthesis of DNA takes place only in 5’to 3’end however during replication one strand grows at its 3’end while the other strand grows at its 5’end. On the lagging strand, DNA grows in the 3’to 5’direction using okazaki fragments. Then the 5’end of the DNA growing strand would be the last part on the strand.
