Gorilla are herbivorous and they stay in the mountain forests or low land rain forests. These animals can digest the cellulose that is consumed .Digestive system consists   bacteria, which digest the cellulose into individual glucose molecules for providing energy.

The physical appearance of the animals shows that its skin is covered by thick fur, which protects from extreme environment (cold)and also protect from insect bite.The teeth are flat and well developed for consuming grass. large muscles in hand and legs for movement.

The female gorilla takes nearly 10 years to reach maturity. The gestation period is 250 days and gives birth to one offspring at one time, similar to humans. The life span may be more than 50 years.
