A particle is moving so that its velocity vt t 64t2 for 2

A particle is moving so that its velocity, v(t) = t - 64/t2 for -2 le t le 6. Find the total distance travelled by the particle.

Solution

v = t - (64/t2 ) for -2< t <6

when velocity equals zero t = 64/t2

t3 = 64

t = 4

upto 4s velocity will b negative then it wil change to positive

so on integration v = t2/2 + 64/t

applying limits -2<t<4 and 4<t<6 separatly

v = 54 + 4.67 = 58.67m
