Solution
The Effectiveness of the boston gun project(youth homicide in Boston , 1976-2009)
The Boston gun project was initiated as the crime rate was increasing day by day and the main act was homicide victimization among young people was increasing
day by day. the City Boston was experiencing this youth homicide from late 1980s to early 1990s.
The survey was showing that, Boston youth homicide (aged 24 and under) increased approx from 22 victims in 1987 to 73 victims in 1990.
Youth homicide remained high well after the peak of the epidemic. Boston averaged about 44 youth homicides per year between 1991 and 1995.This was really a difficult task for a nation to control.
Everyday some or the other killing is happening which was only leading to nowhere and police as well as government had challanged to stop this act of war among people.
The main reason was local gang members were taking or hiring youth\'s and these killing and all were happening very easily without the notice of police so it was difficult to catch the actual culpret.
Now the government came into role of strting a project regarding homocide so it can be comoletely vanished from this City.
The project was directed by David M. Kennedy, Anthony A. Braga, and Anne M. Piehl of Harvard University\'s and sponsored by National institute of justice.
The project main aim was to
1)Creating a team and getting information of largely line-level criminal justice and other practitioners.
2)Research on this rash driving, youth violence in Boston.
3)An intervention(to make people understand about something which they are doing wrong for the society) designed specially for youth homicide.
4)technique for implementing and adapting the intervention for these youth which are all involved in homicides.
5)evaluating or judgeing the the results for interviewing impact.
This Project began in early 1995 and was known as the \"Operation Ceasefire\" intervention, which began in the late spring of 1996.This operation Ceasefire was an innovative and initiated patnership among researchers and practitioners which cured the city homicide problem and created a near-term impact on this problem, mainly this operation ceasefire stratergy was to focus on criminal justice among these local gang members which involve youth for all these homicides .
