An Inductor with a core becomes saturated due to the current

An Inductor with a core becomes saturated due to the current exceeding the rating. the voltage accross the inductor will:

a-Drop

B.Increase

C.Remain the same

D. Become infinitely large

Solution

a) drop.

we know voltage across the inductor=L.(di/dt)

if the inductor is saturated means if we increase the voltage across the inductor, then there is no variation in the inductor current.

so,(di/dt)=0

so inductor acts like short circuit.

then the voltage across inductor drops.

An Inductor with a core becomes saturated due to the current exceeding the rating. the voltage accross the inductor will: a-Drop B.Increase C.Remain the same D.
