x^2 -x -2 =0 ---> x^2 -2x +x -2 =0
x(x-2) +1(x-2) =0
(x+1)(x-2) =0
x= -1 ; x= 2

b) r(x) = (x^3 +3x^2 +2x)/(x^2 - x-2)
= x(x^2 + 3x +2)/(x+1)(x-2)
=x(x^2+ 2x +x +2)/(x+1)(x-2)

= x(x+2)/(x-2)
