well first find the number of times it chimes. add all the times it chimes per hour, and multiply by 2 because there\'s 2 sets of 12 hours in a 24 hour day:
 2(1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10+11+12)= 156
 
 then find the times it spends chiming. the 16 note tune takes 16 seconds and there\'s 4 seconds in between, so that\'s 20, and you multiply that by 24 since it happens 24 times a day. then multiply the 152 we got before by 2 because those chimes take 2 seconds. then add the 3 seconds in between and multiply by 24 for the hours in a day:
 24(16+4)+(156x2)+(3x24)= 864 seconds
 
 if you need it in minutes 864/60= 14.4 minutes
