Assume that the frequencies of an X-linking allele in males and females are 0.0 and 0.3, respectively. What are the frequencies of this allele for the next four generations in the two sexes?
Solution
If the population will follow the Hardy-Weiberg equlibrium, then the frequencies of the X-linking allele will remain the same i.e 0.0 in males and 0.3 in females in each generation and will not change in the next four generations as well.
