Using books, the library, peer-reviewed journals and/or the Internet, research the topic of• Desktop publishing (DTP). Write a 2 – 3 page report, including at least two references (at least one reference should be a peer-reviewed journal article from Baker’s online library).

Desktop publishing is defined as the the process of using our computer and also some types of software in order combine the various texts, images and artwork .This helps to produce documents properly formatted for print or visual consumption.The main purpose is to create documents which can be printed easily .It includes various Items which are destined for commercial printing such as newsletters, brochures, books.

The main purpose is to allowa us to create page layouts that combine text and graphics. These various elements and components are text,images,videos,audios and they are placed in frames that can be positioned anywhere on the page. It can be styled using a wide range of fonts, effects and colours.

There are various advantages of such systems .It provides an enchanced appearance with page layouts.It is used to attract more users towards the web page.Another advantage is that it provides easy customisation for any type of document.It can includes text,pctures,videos of various fonts and colors depending on what the user wants.It also leads to reduced production costs.This can be done usng photoshop and we can get different kind of images which we only could have imagined.It makes it easier for us to print them.

The various disadvantages of these systems are that it is exoensive as the f=softwares required to create it are costly .Moreover it requires training for the users to use this.It cannot be used by all the users easily.It requires them to learn the various concepts step by step.

This system is related to other systems as files and texts can be taken from other systems and we can add pictures and video to it and create a document depending on our demand.This makes it user friendly .
