Antipatterns such as Planning with Gantt Regard and OneEyed
Antipatterns such as Planning with Gantt Regard and One-Eyed King; how would these might negatively influence specific requirements engineering activities (e.g. elicitation, representation, communication, etc.) Also discuss how you will mitigate these challenges via refactoring.
Planning with Gantt Regard: Confusing the simplicity of how easy a Gantt chart (or CPM/PERT network diagram) can be constructed, with the complexity involved in generating a schedule for ultra-large projects. The simple chart that emerges forms the commitment for the project, but wasn\'t created or analyzed properly in order to create the best schedule.
One-Eyed King: An organization in which the leader or head technical guru is just someone with a tiny bit more knowledge or ability than everyone else (and perhaps a whole lot more moxie).
Solution
Gantt chart is basicaly used in the project management & is the pictorial representation of the activities and time. The length is bar chart is showing the duration required for the completion of the project whereas the width have no significance. But Bar chart is old and obselete nad arenot used in the construction industrydue to limitation and short comings. Some of the shortcomings of bar chart are
1)Lack of degree of details-only the major activities are in the project and there is no room for the minor activities. So difficult to carry out the effective control.(This limitation of Bar chart is overcome by Milestone.)
2)There is no provision of showing the project progress.
3)Lack of showing the activity interrelationship(This limitation is ovecome by Specification of bar chart called linked bar chart)
4)There are no provisons to show the project uncertainities.(In such cases it is almost impossible to use bar cahrt, Network diagrams are used over bar charts.)
