Anesthesia is related to medical terminology which basically means\"without sensation\".By this process the pain is less or even the patient does not feel pain because for some period of time patient will not have any sensation.So this is very useful procedure in now a days of surgery.Anesthesia is given or administered by anesthesiologist.The person should be well trained and have experiece and should be certified in that work because if those persons donot have good knowledge then it can effect the patient because anethesia effcts directly to nervous system.So the nurses also should be trained and certified and will give anesthesia in presence of senior or anestheologist.Generally there are three main types of anesthesia: Local,General and Regional.The type of surgery,patient health etc are some factors to be considered and then decided that which type of anesthesia should be given.

Local anesthesia: It is a kind of anesthesia in which only a small and specific part is effected as the name itself defines local means certain part.In this the anesthesia blocks the nerves of the required part for the treatment so that the patient should not feel much pain like during stitches or small surgeries.It is given by injections,IV, or sedatives by which patient feels drowsy but not deep sleep.

Regional anesthesia: This type of anesthesia is used for some major surgeries.In this a large part of body is given anesthesia like caesarian operations,legs operations etc.During this kind of surgeries anethesia is given and the total lower part of body will be effected.Types or regional anesthesia are Spinal and Epidural. Spinal anesthesia is given into the spinal fluid and epidural is given to outside of spinal i.e in epidural space mainly during delivery of child.

General anesthesia:General anesthesia means it is given in major surgeries in which patient is fully unconcious and donot have any sense of surgery.It is given by IV or through inhalation from mask.In this type anesthesia starts working then patient requires some support to breath so they are provided with support like oxygen masks or endotracheal tube.During surgery everything is deeply studied and recorded and after surgery the anesthesiologist perform reverse anesthesia and patient wakes up.
