Solution
a) For the AIV dwarf
m_V = +1.3, B-V = 0.01, thus m_B = (B-V) +m_V = 1.31
For the K0III giant star
m_V = +1, B-V = 1.00, thus m_B = (B-V) +m_V = 2.0
net B-V = (B-V)_1 - (B-V)_2 = 0.99
