The ethos of scientism and postmodernism has exacerbated the perceived philosophical and cultural tension between science and religion. What is your perception of this tension?
Solution
There has been relative differences between the ethos of scientism and postmodernism on one hand and religin on the other hand. Science deifines studing of everything existing in this world on the basis of observation and facts. If any experiment can be carried out on anything and results can be concluded from it after taking into consideration various criterias, then the final conclusion will hold good and that will be the only way to deal with the given situation.
Science and post modernism advocate that everything should be viewed from the lenses of scientism and postmodernism. Anything viewed from other angles would be utter wastage of time and resources and will not hold good. This criteria of scientism will not hold good everywhere. Certain answers might not have been given by science. If those answers are not given by science then there would be no answers for those questions.
In healthcare the treatment of patients, without the procedures laid down by science, is being carried out in different parts of the world and it has been providing good results to the patient. Science cannot explain the reasons behind such things as they cannot accept the conecpt of using natural things for curement.
Thus, the difference between scintism and the concept purported by religion will keep on increasing unless science accepts the views given by religion and put the religious texts to scrutiny and not by completely ignoring the religion.
