What is a continous distribution and how is normal distribution related to your life and work?
Solution
A continuous distribution is a probability distribution in which the variable takes any value between as specific interval.
For example, time is a continuous variable because it can take any value greater than 0. Meanwhile, the number of apples you buy at the grocery is not continuous, as you cannot buy half apples, only integer number of apples.
Normal distribution can describe the time I need to go to work/school. For example, on the average, I take 15 minutes to go to school. However, of course, it is not always exactly 15 minutes, could be 16, 14, 13, 17 at times. The distribution of times I need to go to work/school approximately follows a normal distribution.
