Modify the control scheme shown in figure 3.9 if a fixed speed pump is used instead of a variable speed pump.

Solution

If a fixed pump is used instead of variable speed pump then there should be decrease in the temperature at the process outlet point and increase in temperature at the cooling water inlet. SE and SE would also increase due to the fixed speed supplied by the pump.
