Answer the following question with the data below? Please mark answer A-C.

A.Which has more impact on a movie’s rating:being fact based or having one star? How much does each of these factors change the ratings?

b.How well does this regression analysis explain the ratings? Justify your answers referring to the relevant figures?

c.

Are either, both,or neither of the independent

variables significantly related to the ratings at

95% confidence? Justify your

answers referring to the relevant

figures.

A multiple regression model is fitted. The F test p-value is 0.290968963, meaning that the model is highly significant and it explains the ratings very well.

The equation is

Rating = 12.58 + 1.317 Fact + 0.8977 Stars.

The p-value for the coefficients of Fact and Star are 0.15 and 0.39 respectively. So both factors are highly significant.

The coefficient of 1.317 means that on average, a fact based movie will get a rating 1.317 higher than a facts if the level of Star is fixed.

The coefficient of 0.8977 means that on average, a movie with star will get a rating 0.8977 higher than a movie without a star if the level of Fact is fixed.

For a fact based movie without a star, the estimated rating is

12.58 + 1.317 = 13.897

For a fiction movie with a star, the estimated rating is

12.58 + 0.8977 = 13.4777.

Since 13.89 > 13.47, so on average, a fact based movie without a star will get a higher rating than a fiction movie without a star.
