1) a. Given capacitances are 4F, 2F,6F in parallel and then 8F in series with them.

Hence, the Equivalent capacitance of the parallel capacitors = (4+2+6)F = 12 F

Now, total capacitance = 12*8/12+8 F = 4.8 F where F is farad , unit of capacitance.

b. Given inductances are 6,2 and 4 H (Henry) where 6 and 2 are in series and 4 is in parallel with them.

Equivalent inductance = (6+2)II 4 = 8*4/8+4 = 32/12 H = 2.66 H
